Financial year 2008 was a year of construction for Parker.

First of all, it was a year of further building of our sales network. Following the creation of three new sales companies in Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates and Turkey, and the opening of three new sales offices, Parker is now represented in 32 different countries in Europe, the Middle East & Africa.
This organisation makes it possible for us to be closer to customers and local distributors in high-potential markets and to respond even more rapidly to their requirements.

Secondly, we’ve enriched our product portfolio by acquiring new companies, such as Mitos Technologies in the filtration sector, Vansco, Legris, Origa and Scan Subsea in offshore production and exploration – all leading organizations in their fields. With this broadening of our product offering we both respond to our promise of providing customers with total solutions and strengthen our position in high-potential markets, such as life sciences, the process industries and the oil & gas industry.

Finally, we’ve continued to expand our services offering, opening ParkerStores in nine new countries and starting up the HOSE DOCTOR® service in six new territories. All these FY 2008 achievements form part of the implementation of our “WIN” strategy, which puts our customers’ success and satisfaction at the heart of our vision. The growth (+13.3 % from FY 2007) of our turnover in fiscal year 2008 ($12.1 billion) amply demonstrates the soundness of this strategy.

By launching a new European headquarters in Switzerland, which will bring Parker even closer to its markets, we’re starting FY 2009 by combining the power of an international company with the flexibility needed to operate proactively in our markets. Thanks to the investments of 2008, we’ll be able to create more added-value for our customers and contribute to their success by bringing them complete product-and-service solutions.
